Als cims de la Vall de Bo\u00ed ja s&#8217;han acumulat m\u00e9s de 3 metres de neu, un gruix que generalment, si s&#8217;assoleix, \u00e9s a finals de mar\u00e7 o abril. \u00c9s un bon moment per fixar-nos en aquest fenomen i parlar-ne: us heu fixat algun cop en les formes dels flocs de neu? Aquestes gotes es refreden i es transformen en cristalls de gel que <strong>creixen capa sobre capa<\/strong> mentre es mouen dins del n\u00favol.<br>La forma que pren cada floc dep\u00e8n directament de <strong>les condicions de temperatura i humitat<\/strong> que troba durant el seu creixement. A partir d\u2019aix\u00f2 va concloure que la probabilitat que dos flocs fossin id\u00e8ntics era <strong>pr\u00e0cticament nul\u00b7la<\/strong>, ja que cada floc es forma sota condicions ambientals \u00faniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tot i aix\u00f2, s\u2019ha observat que si dos flocs es formen sota <strong>condicions molt similars o gaireb\u00e9 id\u00e8ntiques<\/strong>, poden arribar a tenir <strong>formes molt semblants<\/strong>. L\u2019any 1988, la cient\u00edfica <strong>Nancy Knight<\/strong> va observar dos flocs for\u00e7a semblants en una tempesta a Wisconsin, amb un microscopi, i aix\u00f2 va demostrar que <strong>s\u00ed que \u00e9s possible trobar flocs molt similars<\/strong> si les condicions de formaci\u00f3 ho permeten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A m\u00e9s, en laboratoris especialitzats els cient\u00edfics han aconseguit fer cr\u00e9ixer cristalls de neu sota <strong>condicions controlades<\/strong> que es semblen molt entre ells. Aix\u00f2 mostra que, t\u00e8cnicament, una semblan\u00e7a molt alta \u00e9s possible si es reprodueixen amb precisi\u00f3 les mateixes condicions ambientals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La ci\u00e8ncia moderna i el valor de la probabilitat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La major part de la comunitat cient\u00edfica considera que <strong>la frase \u201cno hi ha dos flocs de neu iguals\u201d \u00e9s veritable en termes pr\u00e0ctics<\/strong>, especialment quan parlem de flocs naturals formats en condicions reals a l\u2019atmosfera. Aix\u00f2 es deu a diversos factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Els flocs de neu t\u00edpics tenen una quantitat enorme de mol\u00e8cules d\u2019aigua (al voltant de <strong>10\u00b9\u2078 o m\u00e9s<\/strong>), i la manera com aquestes es col\u00b7loquen en el cristall pot variar de <strong>maneres gaireb\u00e9 infinites<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Durant el seu trajecte des del n\u00favol fins al terra, cada floc experimenta canvis molt petits per\u00f2 continus de temperatura, humitat, turbul\u00e8ncia i altres condicions que afecten el seu creixement de manera \u00fanica.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tot i que \u00e9s possible crear estructures similars en laboratoris, <strong>a la natura \u00e9s extremadament poc probable<\/strong> que dos flocs hagin experimentat exactament les mateixes condicions de formaci\u00f3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Per tant, la probabilitat que dos flocs naturals siguin <strong>exactament id\u00e8ntics en tots els detalls<\/strong> (incl\u00f2s el patr\u00f3 molecular i geom\u00e8tric) \u00e9s tan baixa que la majoria de cient\u00edfics l\u2019estimen com <strong>pr\u00e0cticament zero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Fonts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pirineu365.cat\/ca\/boitaull\/en-directe\/infoneu\">https:\/\/pirineu365.cat\/ca\/boitaull\/en-directe\/infoneu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Library of Congress. <em>Is it true that no two snow crystals are alike?
